This loop features scenic mountain views, a few off route, very short, rock scrambles, and A LOT of elevation gain. The area is a recently designated national monument and is rich with history, wildlife, and biodiversity. This look is considered strenuous due to the length and elevation gain and is accessible for hiking, trail running, backpacking and wildlife viewing.

This area traverses through the Sand to Snow National Monument. This area was designed as a national monument in 2016 and it protects a diverse range of environments. This loop sits in the heart of the convergence of three distinct ecosystems, the coastal to the west, Mojave Desert to the east, and the Sonoran Desert to the south. The area is home to several large mountains rising from the desert to over 10,000 feet, and this loop summits nine of these peaks!
